Follow a submission

Understand where your abstract or paper sits, what a correction request means, and when to expect a decision.

Before you start

Read the edition's call for papers and prepare the requested file format. Keep the account email and any submission reference accessible.

Track work submitted elsewhere

Use Track a submission in the Universal Submission Tracker to record work submitted to an external journal or conference. Maintain its status from the information you receive from that venue. A tracker entry neither sends a manuscript nor creates a ScholarVault conference decision.

Submit through the correct edition

Open the conference edition and read its current call for papers before submitting. The edition determines its tracks, deadline, format and required documents. Use the submission reference you receive to identify the record later.

Read the status and next action

Your submission record can show a review state, a correction request or a decision. A request for corrections is not an acceptance. Read the organizer's instructions and deadlines before replacing a file or replying.

  1. Open the record that matches your edition and reference.
  2. Read any requested changes or reviewer feedback.
  3. Submit the requested revision through the provided workflow.
  4. Check the latest decision before arranging travel or payment.

Keep external work distinguishable

Research records imported from a reference file or entered for tracking help you organize your work. They do not create an official conference submission. The official organizer workflow remains the source for a decision or acceptance letter.

A practical example

An organizer asks for a revised abstract. Open that submission, read the requested changes, provide the revision through the displayed action, then check the updated record. A document saved only in Research Vault has not been resubmitted.

Check your result

The submission record shows the latest status and any action still required from you. Keep the reference for future correspondence.

If something does not work

If a revision action is unavailable, check the deadline and the organizer's instructions before contacting support.

If you submitted as a guest, use the confirmation or tracking link supplied for that submission. Do not create a duplicate solely because it is absent from another account.
