Terms, evidence and record types
Understand the distinctions that matter when reading your ScholarVault workspace.
Referral and SVC definitions
Pending / waiting to qualify: an invitation is linked, but reward qualification is incomplete or awaiting refresh.
Successful / rewarded: the verified-email and conference-submission requirements were met and the reward was issued once for that referred account.
SVC: ScholarVault Credits. Referral rewards are credits, not cash or Gold access. Shadow metering estimates operation usage without deducting the quoted amount.
Assessment, evidence coverage and verification
SCVS means ScholarVault Conference Verification System. Its automated assessment organizes publicly observable signals to support investigation.
Evidence coverage describes how much relevant information could be assessed. A score and coverage answer different questions; a favorable score with limited coverage still needs investigation.
Human expert verification is a separate status. Do not infer it from a score, a listing or an organizer's promotional claim.
Saved, submitted, registered and issued
Saved or imported: a record you keep for reference or tracking. It does not establish an official submission.
Submitted: a record delivered through the conference submission workflow. Read its current review state and requested actions.
Registered: a participation record for a particular edition and category. Check payment and eligibility separately.
Issued: a credential released by an authorized workflow. Eligibility or registration alone does not guarantee issuance.
Invited, confirmed and pending
Invited means a request has been sent. Confirmed means the response has been recorded as confirmed. Pending means the record still needs resolution. A person's public visibility is a separate control.
Files and imported citations
Research Vault supports the document types offered in its upload control, including PDF, DOCX, PPTX and XLSX. Use the displayed size limit for the current workflow.
BibTeX, RIS and CSV imports describe scholarly records; they are not full-text retrieval. Review parsed titles, dates and identifiers before saving.
Browser-only imported records can be lost when browser storage is cleared. Private uploaded files and official submissions have different storage and workflow roles.
Paper identifiers and university suggestions
DOI and arXiv links: A DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a permanent link assigned to published journal and conference papers. An arXiv identifier is a persistent number assigned to open-access preprints. ScholarVault uses these identifiers to fill in paper details accurately so you don't have to enter them manually.
University suggestions: When entering your affiliation or co-author institutions, suggestions from recognized global research institutions appear as you type. If your department or specific college is not listed, you can type its full name freely; suggestions are a helpful convenience, not a restrictive requirement.
Affiliation conflict notices: Reviewers and authors associated with the same institution receive a conflict notice during peer-review assignment to preserve fairness and confidentiality.
Feature availability
Available actions depend on your account role, edition settings, plan and release. Organizer and reviewer access require the relevant assignment.
Roadmap descriptions and demonstrations may show future capabilities. Use the current workspace and release notes to check availability.
