How SCVS assessment works
SCVS organizes publicly observable conference evidence into a decision aid. It helps you investigate a candidate; it does not replace source checks or human judgment.
The assessment flow
SCVS starts with a conference or academic event, retrieves accessible public evidence, and explains the strongest signals it can assess at that time. It checks that an input is relevant before beginning discovery.
- Collect the official page and relevant public sources.
- Compare identity, governance, publication, registration, reputation and operator signals.
- Show an evidence score, coverage level and category explanations for researcher review.
Evidence categories
The public categories explain the types of evidence SCVS considers without publishing its proprietary detection rules. A category result reflects the evidence the system could access, not a certification of the organizer.

Score and coverage answer different questions
The evidence score summarizes the strength of the signals SCVS assessed. Coverage describes how much relevant public evidence was accessible. A seemingly strong score with low coverage needs extra caution because important information may be missing.
What SCVS cannot promise
An automated result is not an endorsement, a guarantee of event quality, a publication decision, or proof that a paper will be indexed by Scopus, Web of Science or a journal. Only an authorized ScholarVault expert or administrator review can grant a separate expert-verified status.
Before submitting or paying, confirm the current edition, deadlines, organizer and payment destination through an official source. If the available evidence is thin or contradictory, pause and investigate further.
